In truth
The Waiting God’s Path is overgrowing with weeds, but he does not mind, he waits on. I have a need to move on. “The Half Closed Eye” is the new vessel for my Internet presence, along with the new “raveller.com” domain. All the old pages from the Waiting God have been moved to this site and new ones are popping up.

“The Half Closed Eye” itself is a concept borrowed from one of my favorite authors: Barry Hughart.  Number Ten Ox, his narrator in “Bridge of Birds”, is sent to find a sage to help his village and the only one he could afford lived under the sign of the Half Closed Eye.

Let me be your Number Ten Ox, a simple man with great potential. A lump of clay waiting to be molded. If I am like the Number Ten Ox of the story, I may need a sage with a slight flaw in his character to help out.

I’ll have everything moved here to “raveller.com” before my Web Space expires at “why.net”. I’ll try to create some new opinions, but forming opinions is very taxing. The only other things I’ll put up are more photo galleries and chapters from my novel.

As far as new pictures, those of my friends who wish to be enshrined in my Photo Albums will need to digitize their pictures and Email them to me. I try to keep the major dimension of all my Photos, be it height or width, to a maximum of 800 pixels.

raveller.com
The “raveller.com” comes from my latest Internet moniker which is in turn derived from the lead
character of the novels I’m writing. His name is “Ravel” and since I’m trying to create him and his world, I’m the Raveller. I’m debating whether or not I should place the snippets I’ve wrote thus far on the Web. I’ll at least have to get them organized first. Luckily word processors today spit out HTML fairly well. I just hope I can finish what I start.

Renovations
From my lessons on the Waiting God’s Path, I’ve learned that I need to put the links to other pages in my site in an easy to find place, so I’ve put them in the upper left hand corner with simple easy to see links instead of bright, vibrant pictures that are mistaken for, well, bright, vibrant pictures.

I’m not planning on doing fancy Java scripting or a frames interface. Java fouls things up and frames tend to annoy me. I try to abide by the “Keep it simple, stupid” motto. The Waiting God has been taken off the front burner and allowed to relax. He was working on a trilogy of sequels but only came up with ideas. He’s waiting for the rest to take care of itself. He assures you that they’ll be great. You can preview the intros under “Waiting God’s sites”.
